Matt Murdock Teams Up With The Punisher & Spider-Man in Daredevil: Born Again Art

Summary

  • Daredevil: Born Again brings together Spider-Man, Punisher, and Daredevil as protectors of New York in new fan art.
  • Potential ties between Daredevil: Born Again and Spider-Man 4 could impact Peter Parker’s future in the MCU.
  • The delay in filming Spider-Man 4 may be connected to the release of Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+, setting up a potential team-up.

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and Jon Bernthal’s Punisher join forces with Charlie Cox’s Marvel Cinematic Universe hero in new Daredevil: Born Again fan art. As Marvel Studios has finally made The Defenders shows canon to the MCU timeline, one of the popular players is getting ready to get a new focus again in the franchise. After his cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home and guest appearances on She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Cox is set to headline his own MCU show again, with Daredevil: Born Again.

As filming recently wrapped, a lot has been revealed through Daredevil: Born Again set photos, including Bernthal’s return as the Punisher. While Spider-Man may not be in Daredevil: Born Again, AkiTheFull shared new MCU fan art where they brought the web-crawler together with Matt and Frank Castle.

The Daredevil: Born Again fan art sees Matt, Punisher, and Spider-Man taking to the streets, serving as protectors of New York. As of right now, The Punisher is the only other Marvel-Netflix hero who is known to be appearing in the Daredevil: Born Again TV show.

Daredevil: Born Again has gone back to the The Defenders Saga canon, and some specific Netflix characters returning in the series would be exciting.

Could Daredevil: Born Again Setup Spider-Man 4?

Even though Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will likely not show up in Daredevil: Born Again, it is very possible that the Phase 5 series will actually lead into Peter Parker’s next film. Ever since their brief encounter in Spider-Man: No Way Home, the MCU audience has been wanting to see Daredevil team up with Peter, ideally in Spider-Man 4. Despite the fact that Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios are committed to making Spider-Man 4, the movie doesn’t appear to start filming any time soon.

However, it wouldn’t be shocking if plot points revealed with Daredevil: Born Again‘s release tie into Holland’s new sequel. With Peter now being on his own without the Avengers, his ties to New York have a bigger spotlight, especially if the Kingpin arc in Daredevil: Born Again ends up affecting his way of living as a superhero. The delay for Spider-Man 4 could perhaps be related to Daredevil: Born Again, as both studios are waiting to see how the show does when it debuts on Disney+ before proceeding with filming Holland’s MCU film.

Since Daredevil and Spider-Man will be the leading players for the street heroes in the MCU, it would only make sense for Spider-Man 4 to have Matt and Peter joining forces, especially after whatever goes down in Daredevil: Born Again. The Spider-Man 4 story could also be a way to bring back other members of The Defenders and essentially soft reboot the team in the larger MCU, with Peter being one of the driving forces. Hopefully, Daredevil: Born Again will have some impact on Spider-Man’s future and get them closer to finally teaming up on the big screen.

Daredevil: Born Again

After Charlie Cox’s cameo appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home and supporting role in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Daredevil: Born Again gives Matt Murdock his first show set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Daredevil: Born Again, composed of 18 episodes, serves as the spiritual successor to Netflix’s three-season Daredevil series and adapts its characters to the MCU’s main continuity while establishing a new beginning for the superhero lawyer.
